Although the trip through the postseason ended in the Regional Finals, the Centerville Bulldogs made a lifetime of memories and set a high bar for future basketball teams.

Centerville’s march was stopped by Kennard on Friday with a 46-43 loss.

Even so, Head Coach Geoff Hollis said he would never forget this season, the school, and most importantly, the players.

“I want to say thank you to all of my family, friends and supporters that helped make this season so special,” Hollis posted on Facebook. “You guys will never fully understand what it meant to me and every one of these kids to come out on the floor and see and hear the roar of that sea of red from our Bulldog family.”

Hollis said the boys poured their heart and soul into the season every day, and that he was proud to say they were able to earn a spot in Centerville history.

On the way to the Regional Finals, Centerville went through Calvert on Feb. 25, winning 50-38 behind scoring by Kolt Larsen with 16 points, Jake Slaten with 12 and Iain Kendrick with 11. Slaten also pulled down 11 boards.

The season ended with the Bulldogs 28-7 overall and 11-3 district win/loss record, and a ninth-place ranking in District 1A.
