GROVETON — The Trinity County Commissioners Court will take the next step toward separating from Polk County and the state-required emergency management plan.
At the March 11 meeting, commissioners were informed that it would take minimal time to remove the county from the other plan and create its own.
Commissioner Neal Smith said it would be in the county’s best interest to make its own way.
The counties have been signed onto the same plan since 2002 as a matter of convenience for Trinity County; however, in February, when it came time to renew the plan, the county was told there really wasn’t any benefit for the joint plan to continue.
