Funeral services for Dalton Poncho, 64, of Livingston, Texas were held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Herbert Johnson officiating. Interment followed at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation was held on the day of service, from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Dalton was born March 19, 1960, in Woodville, Texas to parents, Norris Poncho and Rebecca Ann Thompson, and passed away January 4, 2025, in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ellison Poncho, sisters Jackie Thompson and Boni Rodriguez; nephews, Emmanuel, Seth, Simeon Williams, Dorian Poncho, Isiah Poncho, and Elijah Rodriguez; nieces, Jana Williams, Denita Poncho, Tabitha Rodriguez, and Delana Poncho.

Dalton worked for the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe in the Maintenance Department.

He is survived by his sisters, Peggy John and husband Joe John of Livingston, Texas and Waynne Poncho and husband Floyd Poncho of Livingston, Texas; brother, Leamon Poncho  of Elton, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Iola Renee Poncho of Shawnee, Oklahoma; loving partner, Joyce George of Livingston, Texas; aunts, Christene Poncho and husband Cody Poncho, Diane Thompson of Houston, Texas, and Ida Langley of Livingston, Texas; uncles, Vernon Poncho and wife Geraldine Poncho of Byles Arizona and Adrian Poncho and Marcel Poncho of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Baxter Polite, Randy Robinson, Delyn Bullock, Emile Parkinson, Donovan Williams, Maynard Williams, Shane Poncho, Ezekiel Rodriguez, and Isaac Rodriguez. Honorary Pallbearers were Floyd Poncho, Victor Thompson, Armando Rodriguez, Marlene Robison, Cecilia Flores, and Steve Wilkerson.
