Deloris Faye Hooks, 75, of Livingston, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Livingston, Texas.

Visitation was from noon until 2 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville.

Graveside services were at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger. Officiating was Brother Larry Trest. Serving as pallbearers were Kevin Sirmons, Mark Sirmons, Cliff Sirmons, Josh Sirmons, Wes Sirmons, and Doug Griffin. Honorary pallbearers were Coy Phillips, Clayton Phillips, Dylan Conner, Matthew Sirmons, Samuel Sirmons, and Zachary Sirmons.

Deloris was born July 21, 1949, to James and Anabel Jackson Payne in Honey Island, Texas. A native of Silsbee and a former resident of Spurger, Deloris was a graduate of Silsbee High School. She attended East Texas Baptist College in Marshall, Texas. A former EMT, she retired as a medical transcriptionist. She loved her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.  She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, camping, and road trips with her sisters. Deloris was a two-time cancer survivor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Anabel Payne; sisters, Rose Marie Edelen, Martha Elaine Burch, and Elsie Marie Nugent; brothers, James Monroe Payne Jr., and Alford Henry Payne.

She is survived by her sons, Clifton Lee Sirmons Jr. of Livingston, Mark Anthony Sirmons of DeRidder, La., Kevin Sirmons and wife Trina of Spurger, Joshua Sirmons and wife Nancy of Houston, and Weston Sirmons of Texas City; daughter, Krysti Griffin and husband Doug of Livingston; sisters, Juanita Flo Kemp of Dallas, Lolita Nell McKinney and husband Johnny of Buna, Theresa Ann Fuselier and husband Malcolm of Buna, and Sherry Lynn Theriot and husband David of Buna; brother, Larry Lamar Payne and wife Janice of Hillister; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
