Doris Faye Cameron Moye was born June 18, 1932, in Silsbee, TX and passed away December 11, 2024, in Kingwood, TX at the age of 92.

Doris was the daughter of William Walter Cameron and Clara Inez Jones. She lived in Silsbee, Orangefield, and Port Neches before moving to Warren in the early 1940s. In 1946 Doris met James Edward “J.E.” Moye at a “Josey” party. They married in 1950 in Woodville, TX and were happily married for over 73 years.

Doris attended Sam Houston State Teachers College and graduated with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. Doris taught fifth grade before becoming the head librarian and media specialist at Arnold Junior High School. She worked for Cy-Fair ISD for over 30 years.

Doris and J.E. raised two daughters, Cynthia Kay and Karen Denise. Doris welcomed into her family sons-in-law Don Timme and Robert Bush, who she loved as if they were her own sons. She had a special relationship with each of her “grands”: Cameron Timme and wife Casey; Kevin Bush, and Eric Bush. She adored her three great-grandchildren: Claire, Carly, and Carson Timme.

Doris loved her family and supported them with devotion. After retirement, she and J.E. moved from Jersey Village to Kingwood to be closer to “the girls” and their families. She was a faithful attendee of her grandsons’ concerts and sporting events, and never missed a birthday.  Doris and J.E. enjoyed watching sports and country music performers on TV. After J.E.’s passing, Doris continued to watch the Astros and Texans games with the girls.

Doris’ classiness and hospitality were extraordinary. She was an excellent cook and treasured hosting gatherings with all four generations of her family. She went out of her way to make sure everything was special for everyone—always.

In addition to her immediate family, Doris is survived by her brother, John Cameron, her cousins, nieces and nephews, and many extended family members and friends.  Doris was preceded in death by her husband J.E., parents W.W. and Inez, brother Doyle, son-in-law Don, and other family members and friends.

While we grieve the loss of Doris, we take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with her beloved husband J.E.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at noon at Rosewood Funeral Home (Porter location) followed by a brief graveside remembrance at Magnolia Cemetery in Woodville, TX at approximately 2:30 p.m. 397
