GROVETON — The Groveton City Council held off of approving a cost increase from its water and sewer contractor until an error could be resolved.
City Secretary Dorrie Cotton said the council tabled a request from Inframark regarding an application programming interface increase.
Cotton said Inframark reviewed costs and wanted to increase the prices, but a conflict of the date the increase would become effective needs to be resolved.
In a related matter, the council approved paying the Inframark bill of $10,983.73, which included repairs at the water plant.
The council also approved the ballot order for the May election of the city council.
For the Mayor position, incumbent Ralph Bennett will face Hayden Lee. Additionally, incumbent council members Robert Smith and Autumn Dial Persons will face Joseph Wood, Darnell Donovan and Chase Hester.
The top two vote-getters will be placed on the council.

At a special meeting on Feb. 14, the council discussed changes to the municipal clerk’s salary, and tabled the matter until the March meeting.
The Groveton City Council will have a special meeting Thursday at City Hall.
