Friends, family, fellow residents and the staff of Woodville Health and Rehab threw a birthday party for Ola Williams last Friday. The wise, plucky Woodville resident celebrated 100 years, and before getting a piece of her cake, she stood up and told the crowd that although she never though she would outlive her mother, “The Lord left me here for a purpose. I don’t know what purpose that is, but he’s got me here.” Ola said that through her life she has witnessed a lot of changes, from times of war to those of peace, and she credited her faith in God for allowing her to weather the hard times.
