WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Morgan Luttrell, R-Texas 8, released a statement following the passage of the Sen. Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act (HR 8371), which included his previously introduced legislation the Modernization of VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires Act.

HR 8371 is a comprehensive legislative package that includes several bipartisan proposals that modernize the Department of Veterans of Affairs and puts veterans and families first.

“As a veteran, I know firsthand the sacrifices our servicemembers and their families make for our country,” Luttrell said. “We owe it to our veterans to ensure they have access to modern, high-quality care and services when they return home.”

He said the Sen. Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act will modernize the disability benefits claims process, enhance career opportunities for servicemembers transitioning home, address homelessness among veterans, and ensure no veteran is left behind.

“This isn’t just good policy, it’s a responsibility to support those who have given so much for our freedom,” Luttrell said.

The reforms are fully offset, responsibly designed to make a difference without adding to the national deficit. HR 8371 includes the following legislation:

  • Modernization of VA Disability Benefits Questionnaires Act (HR 4461)
  • VET-TEC Authorization Act (HR 1669)
