With heavy hearts, we announce the untimely passing of Jacob Lee Mortensen, who was born on April 21, 1999, in Webster, Texas. Jacob, fondly known as “Jake,” left us on February 16, 2025, in Crosby, Texas, at the youthful age of 25.

Jake will forever be remembered for his warmth, humor and kindness that he shared with all who crossed his path. Jacob’s vibrant personality reflected the love he held for his family and friends, making everlasting memories that will be cherished by those who knew him.

He is survived by his father, David Amad; grandmother, Mary Widner; his girlfriend, Shelby Campbell; and his brothers, Nick Bratton, William Templeton, Trey Bond and Able Castillo. Jake’s friends will remember him for his contagious laugh, loyalty, caring soul and free spirit that touched the lives of those around him.

A visitation was held to honor Jacob on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 11 a.m. to noon at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Following the visitation, a celebration of Jake’s life will begin at noon, where friends and family will gather to share stories, laughter and the joy that Jake brought into their lives.

Interment will follow at Nettle’s Cemetery in Livingston, Texas where he will be laid to rest in peace, surrounded by the love of those who cherish his memory.

In the spirit of Jacob’s lively nature, we invite all who knew him to join us in celebrating the beautiful life he lived, reminding us that even in sorrow, we can find joy in the impact we leave behind.

Jacob was preceded in death by his mother, Jennifer Mortensen.
