It is with deep sorrow and profound hope in Christ that we announce the homegoing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Johnny Walker, born on February 12, 1960, who went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 11, 2025. He was surrounded by the love of his family, whom he cherished so deeply.

Johnny Walker was a man whose life was marked by his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. His love for the Lord was the foundation of everything he did, and his life was a testament to the grace and goodness of God. He had a servant’s heart and found joy in helping others, whether it was lending a hand, offering advice, or just showing up with a joke to lighten the mood. He had a gift for making people laugh – you never knew if he was being serious or just trying to see how long he could keep a straight face. Even in difficult times, he could find a reason to smile and make others smile with him.

Of all the blessings in his life, his greatest joy was his family. He shared a deep and abiding love with his wife, Sandra Walker, the woman he adored and built a beautiful life with. Their marriage was a testament to faith, love and partnership. He was a proud and loving father to his daughter, Krissi Walker, and his son, Shaun Walker, and daughter-in-law, Nacole Walker. His greatest delight was in his grandchildren, Isaias Walker and wife Katelyn Walker, Private First Class Nicholas Walker, and Mattilyn Holland who were the light of his life. He poured his heart into them, teaching them about faith, love and how to cheer for the Dallas Cowboys – no matter what the scoreboard said.

Johnny Walker was also a cherished brother to Judy Williams, uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, and a loyal friend to so many who were blessed by his kindness, laughter and unwavering support. To know him was to be loved by him. He shared a special bond with his three favorite sidekicks – Mattilyn Holland, Charity Battise and Ciella Alec – who brought him so much joy.

He also shared a special bond with Mattie the dog, who rarely left his side. Mattie will undoubtedly miss him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burke Walker; mother, Lydia Walker; and brother, Mack Walker.

He was a lifelong and passionate Dallas Cowboys fan. Whether they were winning or losing, he remained loyal, always believing that “this could be the year.” Sundays in the fall were sacred – a time for faith, family and football.

Though we grieve his passing, we rejoice in the hope of eternity. His faith assures us that he now stands in the presence of his Savior, fully healed and whole. As we remember him, we hold tight to the legacy of faith and love he leaves behind. His life reflected the words of 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” and Matthew 25:23 “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Pallbearers will be Isaias Walker, PFC Nicholas Walker, Zane Alec, Bubba Dubois, Roman Reeves, Joseph Williams, Ben Griffin and Zach Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Josiah Alec, Neziah Alec, Ryan Alec, Javen Criswell, Isaiah Thompson and Adam Crabb.
