On Dec. 19 the Lady Jackets defeated Goodrich 53-10. Kyli Handley and Sydney Brock each led with 16 points.
Abby Grimes had 5, Carlen Sluga, Ty Cochran, and Madi Myers each had 4, Lauren Citrano and Sadie Garsee each finished with two.
The Lady Jackets ended the week defeating Leggett 45-39. Kyli Handley led offensively with 12 points. Abby Grimes had 11 points, Ty Cochran 7, Lauren Citrano 6, Sydney Brock 5, Carlen Sluga helped with 4, and Tegan Toler had 4. These two wins make the Lady Jackets 4-0 in district play. They will enjoy a Christmas break and resume play on Friday, Jan. 3 against Brookeland at JP Johnson Gymnasium with a 4:30 p.m. tip-off time.
The Yellowjacket varsity boys team also defeated Goodrich with a score of 57-23. On Friday, Dec. 19 they came up short 43-50 against Leggett.
The Jackets will participate in the Broaddus Bulldog Shootout on Dec. 27 vs Central JV at 11am and 12:20 p.m. vs Garrison. On Saturday, Dec. 28 they will play Central Heights JV at 10:20 a.m., and Broaddus at 2:20 p.m. On Jan. 3, the Jackets will resume district play vs Brookeland at JP Johnson Gymnasium to start after the girls’ game.
