On Tuesday, March 25, the Lady Jacket softball team beat Zavalla 22-4 in three innings. The Lady Jackets got a big lead in the first inning scoring nine runs. In the second inning the Lady Jackets scored 13 runs.
Lauren Citrano and Tegan Toler each collected two hits. Citrano and Carlen Sluga each had three RBI’s. Lily Read, Allie Ogden, Emma Byrd, and Carlen Sluga each had one hit. Allie Ogden earned the win giving up one hit, three runs, five strikeouts, and one walk. Tegan Toler pitched for one inning, striking out two and walking one.
This week the Lady Jackets will play Burkeville at home in a double header starting at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 3.
The Yellowjacket baseball team was scheduled to play Milford on Friday, March 28 but did not get the game in due to weather. The JV baseball team played Colmesneil on Monday, March 31 at home and came out with a 9-6 victory.
This week the Jackets play Apple Springs at home on Tuesday, April 1 and will travel to Burkeville on Thursday, April 3 with game time starting at 4 p.m.
Golf teams compete in district meet
The boys and girls golf teams competed in their district meet on Wednesday, March 26 at Rayburn Country in Brookeland. Both teams qualified for the Regional Golf Tournament on April 14-15 at ShadowGlen Golf Course in Manor.
The girls team is Whitney Thomason, Ty Cochran, Madi Ogden, and Tegan Toler. The boys team is Coltin Kosina, PJ Purvis, Will Thomason, Waylon Sturrock and Cutter Lowe.
