BAY CITY — Five members of the Shepherd Lady Pirates Powerlifting team earned spots at the state meet, while finishing second overall in the region.
Victoria Gonzalez, Kelsey Fisk, Emily Gonzalez, Debanni Cantera and Alyssa Jimenez all qualified.
Meanwhile on Friday, the Coldspring Lady Trojan powerlifting team competed at the Regional Powerlifting meet, and Kinsey Reynolds finished fourth in her weight class.
Payton Greenwood, who finished second in the 242-pound weight class, will advance to the state powerlifting meet on March 13 in Edinburgh.
