Lady Pirates named to all-district team

Pitching prodigy Isabelle Hooper of Shepherd was named District 19-4A’s Pitcher of the Year. 

Meanwhile, in District 23-3A, Coldspring’s Trinity Rosales was named the district’s top pitcher.

During the 2025 season, Hooper racked up an ERA of 2.26; posted 20 wins on 157.2 innings pitched; and of the 674 batters she faced, she tossed 298 strikeouts while walking only 51.

The other Lady Pirates named to the all-district softball team include:

First team all-district — Nevaeh Murphy and Jayci Wilson; and second team all-district — Chloe Fuller and Skyleigh Lagow.

Adison Simpson, Maci Wilson, Rylei Brewer and Swayzie Nelson all received.

Three members of the Shepherd Pirates baseball team also made the 19-4A all-district squad.

Kyler Syracuse was named to the second team on the infield, and Marshall Reeves and Cyrus Martinez both received honorable mention. 

Coldspring

The Lady Trojans place several softball team members on the District 23-3A all-district squad.

Trinity Rosales was named pitcher of the year; Krissie Bennett was named catcher of the year; Jasper Williams was named offensive player of the year; Haylee Rosales was named defensive player of the year; and Dwain Anderson captured Coach of the Year honors.

Camry Barton, Ashney Minor and Addison Headley all made first team, while Ciarra Phillips and Taonna McGraw made second team.

Ella Phillips, Jaelyn Dosia, Brooklyn Leasman and Olivia Moreno all received honorable mention.
