SHEPHERD — The Lady Pirates made a match of it, but in the end, Huffman walked away with at 3-0 win on Friday.
The first set went to the Lady Falcons 25-11 as the second set reflected the same score, 25-11. Huffman won the third set 25-14.
On Sept. 17, the Lady Pirates put up a fight, but the Lady Longhorns were just too much and ended up with a 3-0 win.
Scores were 25-13, 25-8, and 25-8.
Coldspring
The previous week was a good week for the Lady Trojans, beating Hempstead and Alpha Omega both in straight sets.
Against Hempstead, the scores were 25-9, 25-10 and 25-17, and against Alpha Omega, the scores were 25-16, 25-19 and 25-18.
Leading the way last were Ella Phillips with 23 kills, 5 blocks and 6 aces; Ashlynn Holley with 16 kills and 4 blocks; Tess Phillips with 12 aces; and Cali Crowder added 44 assists and is approaching 500 assists for the season.
Head Coach Dwain Anderson said the team starts district on Friday against New Waverly, and the girls are excited to see what they can do against district opponents.
