COLMESNEIL – The combined efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies resulted in the confiscation of nearly two pounds of suspected methamphetamine not making its way to the streets.

According to Tyler County District Attorney Lucas Babin, an ongoing investigation, which was initiated in May of this year, resulted in the arrest of a Colmesneil man, Demonte Rashaan Siggers, age 24.

Siggers is currently in the custody of the Tyler County Jail and charged with four felony charges of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Babin said that the investigation was a joint effort between his office, the Tyler County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety – CID.

The agencies, along with the U.S. Marshal Service, served Siggers the four felony warrants at his residence last Thursday, Oct. 3, and after placing him into custody, they executed a search warrant of the home, along with associated vehicles.

Officers were able to discover and confiscate more than 25 ounces of suspected methamphetamine.

Babin noted the work of his investigator, Donald Calhoon, along with Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford and the other investigators working the case.

“I look forward to reviewing these cases and making sure justice is done in Tyler County,” he said.
