Paul Dean Stringer, 81, of Crockett passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, in Crockett. Paul was born Dec. 20, 1942, in Crockett to parents, Dallas Cecil Stringer and Naomi Ruth Wolfe Stringer. He was a 1961 graduate of Crockett High School and while attending school, he worked at Puny Woods Drug Store where he decided on a career as a pharmacist. Paul received his master’s degree from University of Houston in 1967 as a Registered Pharmacist then opened Paul’s Pharmacy in Groveton, working for many years. After his retirement and moving back to Crockett, he continued to fill in for pharmacists in Silsbee and Crockett Brookshires and even worked in Gatesville TDCJ and Lufkin State School. Paul was very involved in the Crockett Fiddler’s Festival and also enjoyed reconnecting with his classmates from Crockett. He was a longtime member of the South Loop Church of Christ where he was a song leader, preached occasionally and publish the Church bulletin. Paul was a very pleasant man, enjoyed visiting and was a true friend.

Paul is survived by son, Tim Springer and wife, Katherine, of Crockett; daughter, Elizabeth Middleton of Tatom; granddaughters, Kayla and Mistie Middleton; great-grandson, Elias Middleton; brother, Charles Stringer and wife, Joyce, of Lufkin; and nephews, Michael Stringer and John David Stringer. He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Tidwell Stringer; and a son, Jason Stringer.
