Paula Sue Holden Harvey was born May 4, 1952, to parents, Louis Isiah Holden and Pauline (Clamon) Holden and was called home to her Lord December 13, 2024.

Paula’s family moved around a while, but finally settled in Leggett, Texas in 1962, where she attended Leggett School until her senior year in 1969, when she married Jack Moore, who preceded her in death. She finished her senior year in Pensacola, Florida while her husband finished his time in the U.S. Navy. In 1970, Paula gave birth to her only child, Tammy Lanee Moore.

In 1977, Paula graduated from Cleveland School of Vocational Nursing and worked in surrounding medical facilities around Polk County while finishing her registered nurse degree. During this time, she also completed and received her certification as an emergency medical technician in 1978. While raising her daughter and working, Paula continued her education and received her bachelor’s degree in science/nursing from Regents College in New York.

In 2006, Paula was included in the Manchester’s Who’s Who Among Executive and Professional in nursing and healthcare. Inclusion in this is limited to individuals who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in their profession.

In 1995, she married Dale Ray Harvey and together they lived in Romayor, Texas until her death, though she always considered Polk County her home.

Paula was a devoted wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She was an avid reader, cook, artist, seamstress and animal lover. She wasn’t satisfied unless she had 10 projects going at one time, otherwise, she got too bored. Paula especially loved working for and being a member of the Livingston Lions Club. In 2018 she was a recipient of the Melvin Jones award, the highest award of the club, and in 2019 she received the Lion of the Year award. She served as membership chairman from 2016-2020, co-chairman of the pre-Christmas tree sales for many years alongside Dr. Mike Shukan, she also chaired the donations that the club gave out to charities and was elected president for 2024-2025.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dale Harvey of Romayor, Texas; daughter, Tammy Johnson of Liberty, Texas; brother, Stephen Holden of Leggett, Texas; brother-in-law, Nelford Harvey and wife Faye; grandsons, Lonnie Lowe and wife Jillian of Diboll, Texas, Rudolph Johnson and wife Jordan of Evanston, Wyoming, Richard Johnson and wife Cristan of Riverview, Florida, Anthony Pinyon and wife Abigail of Sugarland, Texas, and Heather Breanna Pinyon of Houston, Texas; and great grandchildren, Javier Johnson, Julian Johnson, Kai Johnson, Cash Lowe, Jacob Pinyon, Grace Johnson, Grace Lowe, Jaycelyn Lowe, and Blakely Lowe; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; parents, Louis Isiah Holden and Pauline (Clamon) Holden; and brother, Ronald Holden.
