Caddo

SLOW. Water stained; 67 degrees; 2.32 feet above pool. Caddo Lake is predicted to rise to 174 feet and at that level the lake will be closed at most ramps. Be sure to plan ahead. The river will be in a non-wake driving condition, so you will not be able to drive fast on the lake except in the middle away from properties. Up until this the bite has been amazing, the most fun we have seen in many years for spring with several big ones being caught so far. Grass fish were caught with swimbaits, chatterbaits, buzz baits and frogs. Tree fish were caught on flukes and senkos. Having said all that, if the lake comes up 4 feet it will be extremely tough to catch anything on this majestic and divine lake we call Caddo. Report provided by Vince Richards, Caddo Lake Fishing & Fellowship. The Caddo Lake State Park boat ramp, canoe rentals and Mill Pond camping area are closed due to flooding.
