BEAUMONT –The Southeast Texas Coaches Association (SETCA) last week released its “Coaches of the Year” list for 2024. Woodville’s own Ty Robinson was named “Football Coach of the Year.”
Robinson, who serves as athletic director and head football coach for the Woodville Eagles’ athletics program, was hired by WISD in 2016. Prior to that, he was in the same position at Yorktown ISD.
Robinson has, through his career at WISD, worked to instill a culture of success, both on and off the field, for his athletes; stressing the importance of long-term goals.
He, along with the other winners, will be honored in a Hall of Fame induction ceremony dinner, which will take place at noon on Jan. 25 at the Elegante Hotel in Beaumont.
The four inductees to be honored in the SETCA Hall of Fame for 2024 at the event are: Tom Woolley, Scott Carter, Delbert Spell and Gene McKinley.
