The Walker County Genealogical Society presents Professor Emeritus Dr. Caroline Crimm

The Walker County Genealogical Society is excited to present Professor Emeritus Dr. Caroline Crimm on Saturday March 15^th at 10:30 am at the Staggs Community Center of the Huntsville Public Library.  Dr. Crimm will be speaking on the “Texas General Land Office – In the Beginning”.  When Texas became a republic in 1836, thousands of people owned Mexican land grants.  But how to prove it?  Fraud, illegal titles, and stolen land grants meant the GLO faced a difficult time in proving ownership.  Learn about this exciting and difficult time in Texas history!  The event is free and everyone is welcome.  Learn more at our website wcgstx.org.
