The Trinity Tigers boys team placed second at the Baker Best Invitational on Wednesday, and the Groveton boys varsity and JV teams placed first in Huntington on Saturday.
Trinity coach Shambrail Woods said the course in Anderson is a notoriously challenging one infamous for its grueling hills, but it didn’t slow our athletes down one bit.
The Trinity varsity boys team secured a 2nd-place finish overall out of 21 teams, thanks in large part to Senior Cade Mauldin’s 1st-place victory in the 1-4A division. Cade was joined by teammates Cristian Lopez, Alejandro Zavala, Austin Beasley, and John Parrish in this achievement.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Tigers varsity team delivered a solid 6th-place finish overall, led by freshman Jasmine Jordan, who placed 9th overall. Karissia Rangel followed closely behind, securing 12th place.
At the Dobie Longhorn Stampede 2024 on Thursday, the Groveton boys placed 20th; and at the Huntington Red Devil Meet on Saturday, both the high school and junior high boys placed first.
