Tyler County’s TyCo Titans 11U win big in Lufkin with championship

LUFKIN – A group of young ballplayers from Tyler County made some serious noise this past weekend, bringing home the championship at the Morris-Frank Showdown in Lufkin, held from Friday, March 29 through Sunday, March 30.

The TyCo Titans 11U went on a run through Sunday’s bracket, starting with a 6–1 win over Texas Showcase, then outlasting Texas Slam 11U in the title game with a hard-fought 8–7 victory.

It’s a big win for a program that’s just getting started. The TyCo Titans are in their first full year as a travel select organization. Launched last spring and based right here in Tyler County, TyCo was created to give local kids an opportunity that’s been missing for a long time. For years, kids in this area haven’t had access to competitive travel ball like other parts of the state. TyCo is here to change that.

Now with five baseball teams and one softball team, the organization continues to grow, creating more chances for young athletes from Tyler County to play and compete at a high level.

The 11U team includes Ayson Kervin, Cooper Johnson, Dawson Kervin, Grant Wilson, Jack Duff, Jackson Jones, Kord Strength, Nate Davis, Parker Wagnon, and Price Tillerson—all of whom played a key role in the team’s championship run.
