GROVETON — A Trinity County man was arrested after being sought by Sheriff’s Deputies on two warrants for sex-related charges.
Charles Leeroy Wade, sometimes known and Squeeky, 55, is facing second-degree felony charges of indecency with a child and sexual assault of a child in connection with events that are alleged to have occurred over the period of a year.
The victim, who was not identified, was less than 17 years old, according to an affidavit for arrest warrant. The investigation began after the victim’s uncle contacted police
The warrants were issued Dec. 3, but Wade wasn’t arrested until Dec. 5 after the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office placed wanted information on social media. Reports indicate he was arrested at Huntsville Memorial Hospital in Huntsville and booked into the Trinity County Jail.
He was released on Friday on two $100,000 bonds.
