The Lady Eagles took the next step in postseason action by dropping Mount Calm 3-1 in the bi-district round on Friday.
The win gives Apple Springs a 2-2 district record.

On Monday, the Lady Eagles fell short to Blum in the Area round.
Head Coach Raegyn Moreno said that the 2026 season was the first time that the Apple Springs volleyball team has made it to Round 2 since 2020.
“I am incredibly proud of the hard work the girls put in this season, as well as the adversity they overcame,” she said. “Getting to coach this group is truly a blessing. We fought through injuries, illness, losing players, and more this season.”
Moreno had high praise for the team, saying that despite everything they faced, they worked through together.
“At the beginning of the season, it felt like I believed in their potential far more than they did,” she said. “Watching them develop a sense of confidence as season went on was exactly what I was looking for. They finally started believing in themselves, and each other, the way I had believed in them since I got here. This group has so much talent, and so much potential, and we've only just begun showing it.”
Moreno praised the seniors on the team for their efforts.
“Getting to coach Abrie McWhorter in her senior season was truly a joy,” Moreno said. “She worked hard all season, led the team in digs, assists, and aces. She was one of my captains and left it all on the court every game. My manager, Bri'Lynn Hicks, was my right-hand man these past two years. Without her, I wouldn't have been able to be as effective as I was. Having her help allowed me to stay focused on keeping stats, giving correction, and truly just being the coach.
“Though we did not want to go out this early, and I know my girls had more potential to show, it is a blessing to have watched this group play together this year,” she said. “I am so proud of where we started, to how far we came. I cannot wait to see what next year holds.”
Centerville, which also made the postseason, beat Penelope 3-0 in bi-district round on Friday.
Coach Kevin Parker said standouts in the match were Darbi Parker, Avery Brown, and Jordyn Jones.
“We played the best game we’ve played all season against Penelope,” he said.
