Bulldogs move to postseason

The Bulldogs finished the regular season 21-10 overall, 10-4 in district and are again headed to the show, hoping to repeat their fantastic 2024-25 season.

The last regular season stop for the team was a 90-45 win over Martinsville on Feb. 17.

Senior Kolt Larsen finished the regular season as the state leader (all classifications) in assists per game at 9.7.

Other top performers include Iain Kendrick with 33 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 steals; Hardy Brown with 23 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 1 block; Larsen with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 15 assists and 4 steals; Braden White with 10 points and 8 rebounds; and Wyatt Clede with 5 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.

Trinity

The Tigers ended the regular season with a decisive 72-41 win over Crockett on Feb. 17.

The team will be in the playoffs this week after ending the season with a 19-11 overall (8-2 district) record.

Girls
Trinity

The postseason romp for the Lady Tigers came to an end on Feb. 16 with a 59-42 loss to Van Vleck.

Despite the loss, Head Coach Ashley Sustaita said she is proud of the girls and everything they accomplished this season.

“They completed the second 20-win season 10 years in a row and finished in second place, earning that playoff berth for the first time in 6 years,” she said. “They continue to rise above the doubt and do things no one thought was possible outside of our locker room.”

Mariah Tyson had the hot hand, scoring 16 points and pulling down 20 rebounds.

Centerville

The Lady Bulldogs played a tough, gritty game and pulled out an exciting 42-41 win over Priddy in the area round on Feb. 17 and now advance to the regional semifinals.

Groveton

The season came to an end in the bi-district round for the Lady Indians with a 56-22 loss to LaPoynor.
