CENTERVILLE — No. 4-ranked Centerville moved to 4-0 (3-0 in district) on Friday after overpowering Kennard 17-0.
While the Bulldogs had 7 runs throughout 3 innings, they opened up with a barrage of hits in the top of the fourth, piling on 10 runs.
Kolt Larsen piled up the threes, going 3-for-3 at the plate, scoring 3 runs and posting 3 RBIs. Drew Larsen added 2 hits, including a triple, and an RBI while scoring 4 times. Brandon McWhorter, Brice Selman and Eli Emmons added hits as well.
Wyatt Clede went 3 innings on the mound, giving up a single hit, and Hardy Brown relieved for an inning. The two tossed 5 strikeouts
On March 17, a dominant pitching performance from senior Kolt Larsen led the team to a 12-0 blanking of Wells.
Larsen threw a perfect game while striking out 14 out of 15 batters faced. The last batter of the game for the Pirates grounded out to complete the perfect game.
An incredible performance on the mound for the Sam Houston commit puts Centerville in sole possession of first place in the district in the young season as the Bulldogs look to repeat as district champions.

The Eagles went 1-1 on the diamond last week, losing to Central 10-6 on March 16 but dominating Burkeville 14-1 on Thursday.
Against Burkeville, Peyton Williams led at the plate with 2 hits and 4 RBIs. Tristin Eddings and Rance Howell shared mound duty, combining for 10 strikeouts while leaving the Burkeville offense hitless.
Against Central, the Eagles fairly matched hits, posting 9 to Central’s 10, but walks on the part of the pitching crew gave Central the advantage on the scoreboard.
Cooper Campbell, Angel Reyna and Kayden Roden managed to combine their pitching into 10 strikeouts but gave up 11 walks on the day.
The Indians were edged out 11-10 on March 16 by Madisonville, but stormed back for an 8-3 win over Hemphill on Friday.
Against Madisonville, Trystan Ard led at the plate, going 2-for-5 with a double. Blake Chaney, Cooper Shanafelt, Everett Snyder and Jasper Due took turns on the mound, giving up 10 hits and striking out 8.
Against Hemphill, Groveton outhit the Hornets two-to-one, with Ty Torregrossa and Canyen Hollis each hitting 2 apiece. Hollis, Torregrossa and Snyder took turns on the mound, combining for 13 strikeouts while giving up only 5 hits.
The Tigers were mauled by the New Waverly Bulldogs 22-0 on Friday.
The Bulldogs opened the game with an 11-run first, and never looked back, while holding Trinity to a lone hit in the game, a single by Austin Beasley.
Beasley, Matthew Bass, David Alexander and Ronnie Barrett tried to stem the tide, but all together gave up 17 hits and 7 walks.
