Centerville finishes season strong, looks to postseason

The Bulldogs’ 76-47 win over the Martinsville Pirates put Centerville as the No. 1 seed in the D2 division of the state 1A playoffs.

Centerville’s record stands at 25-6 overall record (11-3 in district).

Jake Slaten put up an impressive 44 points in the win, while adding 21 rebounds. Iain Kendrick added 12 points, while Hardy Brown and Wyatt Clede both had 9 boards.

The JV Boys also earned a win over Martinsville to finish the season with a 7-6 record.

Trinity

The Tigers wrapped up the season against Crockett that came down to the wire and resulted in the Tigers losing 71-66.

The team finished the season with an overall record of 17-11 (3-7 district).

Apple Springs

The Eagles lost their final game of the season to Zavalla 62-53 on Feb. 11.

Apple Springs ended the year with an 11-18 overall record (4-10 district).

Zeth Dugat put up 25 points to lead scoring, while Cooper Campbell added 16 points and 10 rebounds and Kane Dugat added 12 points.
