The Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce 27th Christmas Show was a huge success. The day was gorgeous, the entertainment was fabulous, and the vendor food booths were outstanding. Santa Claus was a big hit, the Christmas bags for the children were appreciated by the parents, and the s’mores activity was the most fun for children and adults.
The entertainment by our local people is the best-kept secret in Trinity County. The Trinity Tabernacle Pentecostal Church has been performing at the Christmas show for the past 5 or so years and they are now being requested to perform each year as they are so good.
I don’t always get to hear them perform as I must help with the inside vendors and their requests. However, I am lucky because I am invited to attend their Christmas Concert the next day. which is the first Sunday of December annually, at their Church.
This Concert Choir is so good they can even use sign language while they perform. The Choir performed “Joy to the World” and signed while they sang the words. It was unbelievable. The children’s choir sang first and then the adult singers lead the way the rest of the evening.
The program started at 5:30 p.m. and as it ended at 7:30 p.m. and you were still wanting more. When the performance was over the congregation, guests and choir members were fed hors d ‘oeuvres and desserts and finished with an evening of comraderies.
The Methodist Church had its Christmas celebration, and they had a speaker from the SAAFE House of Huntsville.
Colleen Clauson Garza, SAAFE House Trinity County Coordinator, spoke about the needs of abused women and children in our County and received donations from the Methodist Women’s Group for women’s toiletries. The meeting started at 6 p.m. and a spaghetti dinner was served. Along with praise and worship, there were door prizes and photos.
