TRINITY — Contractors in the area hit two main water lines, causing a full-service interruption and a period of low or no water pressure in Trinity on Wednesday.
While the pipe has been repaired, there is a boil water notice in place for the full water system.
Additionally, city officials asked for patience while pressure was rebuilt.
A boil water notice was issued due to multiple water main breaks within the distribution system at once. It has caused a significant loss of water pressure throughout the Public Water System. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Trinity Public Water System to notify all affected customers to boil their water prior to consumption (washing hands and face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc.).
The affected area included the entire public water system.
On Friday, the public water system had taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling.
Also on Friday, city officials reported that contractors have hit a water line on Sabine Street, if you are close to this area you may experience low pressure or no water at this time until the line is repaired.
