TRINITY — This year’s Trinity Community Fair slogan of Deep Roots and Country Boots was on full display Friday, with community members and students past and present showing up for the annual Crawfish Boil fundraiser.

Organizer Tally Jo Stout said that the event, now in its eighth year, proved to be another remarkable success as the generous contributions generated approximately $19,000 for the scholarship trust.

Since its inception, the program has proudly supported more than 115 students in their educational pursuits.

Organizer Brian Kembro said that this year's event saw tremendous community participation with 65 sponsored tables with 3,200 pounds of crawfish, and volunteers from the FFA, 4-H and FPLA programs showing up and helping out.

“We’re trying to pull in more school organizations,” Kembro said. “It’s good for the students to see who is helping them.”

He also said that returning participants in the fair and fundraising volunteer as well and also gain an appreciation about what this annual activity does.

“This event brings the community together,” he said.

Stout said the Community Fair Association organizing committee extends heartfelt thanks to the Stevenson Beer Distributing, Big E-Z Crawfish, and all sponsors, volunteers, and attendees who made this achievement possible.
