TRINITY COUNTY –Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers investigated a one-vehicle crash on state Highway 19, north of Trinity, that occurred Jan. 6.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 2:01 p.m., a 2016 Ford F-350 was traveling south. It is reported that the front right tire on the Ford blew out, the vehicle left the road to the right and then struck a tree.
Trinity Fire Chief Keith Johnson said firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver, who was then transported by Ventura EMS to the Helipad for transport by PHI Air Med to HCA Conroe Hospital for treatment of possible life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford was identified as 77-year-old William Swain of Cut and Shoot.
