Early voting starts in two local elections

GROVETON — One city council and one school board are on the ballot of the first election to be held in May.

The city of Groveton will hold an election for three positions on the council.

The three positions up for election are currently held by Darrel Harbuck, Joe Don Kennedy and Donna Dixon.

Also throwing their hats in the ring are Joseph Wood, Kamal Simmons and Charlene Singleterry.

Elections for the Groveton City Council take the top three vote-getters.

Early voting began Monday and runs through April 28, and polls are open from 8-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Groveton City Hall, 115 W. Front St., in Groveton.

Election Day is Saturday, May 2, and polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. also at City Hall.

•Two positions on the Trinity ISD Board of Trustees are up for election, and three candidates are on the ballot.

Incumbents Dorothy Franklin and John John Smith are up for re-election, and face a third candidate, Chad Seamans.

Elections for the Board of Trustees take the top two vote-getters.

Early voting began Monday and runs through April 28, and polls are open from 8-5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Trinity ISD Administration Building, 101 W. Jefferson St., in Trinity.

Election Day is Saturday, May 2, and polls are open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. also at the Administration Building.
