TRINITY— Trinity emergency personnel battled two fires and assisted motorists involved in an accident on Saturday.
Fire Chief Keith Johnson said that at approximately 9 a.m. that morning, firefighters responded to a structure fire in Trinity Cove on Mallard Drive, and when they arrived, they found the fire was in the rear of the structure and had moved into the attic.
Twelve firefighters with four engines fought to extinguish the fire for approximately 4 hours due to multiple roofs and layers of shingles, Johnson said.
The house was vacant and a total loss.
Then at approximately 4:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-vehicle accident in Trinity Cove.
Johnson said the vehicles collided head-on, and were moderately damaged; however, there were no injuries reported. DPS troopers are investigating the cause and Ventura EMS responded to check on drivers.
Then, as fire units were leaving the accident scene, they were dispatched to a residence on Lake L Drive for a brush fire.
Firefighters arrived and found a small brush fire that spread from an unattended burn barrel.
Johnson said the fire was quickly extinguished and Sheriff's Office issued a burn ban violation citation.
