TRINITY —Before the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department could arrive to battle a blaze, a volunteer firefighter who lived nearby ran to help, keeping the damage to a minimum and helping the residents.
Fire Chief Keith Johnson said that a fire broke out at a home in the Trinity Plantation subdivision at around 1 a.m. Monday.
Firefighter Allen Ramsey, a resident of the subdivision, responded within minutes, and with a water hose contained the fire to a bedroom, he said. The occupants were able to escape and called 911.
Fire units then arrived on scene and began overhaul as well as salvage and smoke removal.
No injuries were reported, but there was moderate damage to the bedroom.
Johnson said the cause appears to be an electrical plug.
