The Trinity Volunteer Fire Department battled two fires on nearby land on Saturday.
Fire Chief Keith Johnson said the first call was a grass fire on Knight Lane south of Trinity. Two trucks responded and extinguished the fire from a burn pile.
The second call was received about a woods fire on Highway 19 North past McManners Road. A power line started the 3-acre fire in heavy brush and pine trees. The fire was contained, and the Texas Forest Service was called to plow a containment line due to high winds.
