TRINITY — The Groveton girls powerlifters won first and the boys second in Saturday’s Tiger Strong powerlifting meet, held annually in Trinity.
The placings came from first-place finishes by Grayson Savage, Jay Smith, and Trystin Ard for the boys and Brooke Taylor, Lesly Garcia, and Carleigh Williford for the girls.
Madisen Howard was named outstanding lifter for the lightweight classes and Mercedes Wilson was named outstanding lifter for the heavy weight classes.
Meanwhile, Trinity girls finished second and the boys finished third in their own meet.
On Thursday, Trinity boys finished fourth and the lone lifter for the girls finished seventh at the Lake Livingston Powerlifting League Week 3 meet held Thursday in Trinity.
