Buoyed by the pride of parents, faculty and school administration, and with an inspirational quote from Lightning McQueen, the 2026 Trinity High School seniors graduated on Friday.

In Groveton, the Indians also celebrated their accomplishments on Friday, and on Thursday, Centerville’s graduates tossed their caps in celebration.

At the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum at SHSU on Saturday, Trinity High School Principal Danielle Andries, who took over this school year, told the students that it didn’t take long for her to see how close-knit the community was, and said that and the seniors’ accomplishment filled her with pride.

“Wherever life takes you next, never forget where you came from,” she said.

Sheena Turman welcomed the crowd, and Salutatorian Carolyn Cleveland offered thanks to all the people who helped the students along their way.

“High School was more than just classes; we built friendships, dealt with problems and dealt with many emotions. But we learned and we grew,” Cleveland said.

Valedictorian Cove Copley said he didn’t know what the future holds for all of them, but in “Cars 3,” Sally Carrera summed it up by saying, “Don’t fear failure. Be afraid of not having the chance.”

Copley also said one the biggest takeaways from graduating was the true magic in the community.

“We entered (school) as individuals, but we are leaving as family,” he said.
