Two more weeks until Easter Sunday morning. I have told you about two Easter egg hunts that are planned for the children of Trinity. They are at the River Pointe of Trinity Health and Rehabilitation Center and at VFW Post 6899.

It is wonderful that the events are not on the same day and that they are held south of town and north of town, so every child has a chance to attend one or the other. One hunt is on Friday, April 3, and the other one is on Saturday, April 4.

The VFW Post 6899 event is April 4 at 10 a.m. There will be a cornhole tournament, a 3-legged race, a sack race, a hula hoop contest, a cake walk, and of course the hunt for kids up to 14 years old. For more information, please call Marilyn at (281) 782-8309.

River Pointe of Trinity Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at 1410 S. Robb St. (Highway 19 South) is hosting its Easter egg hunt on Friday, April 3, starting at 10 a.m. The Easter Bunny is coming. Get ready to hunt. Meet the Easter Bunny at the photo booth and take a picture with him. Free snow cones for all Trinity children. Prizes, pictures, games, Easter Bunny, and much more for children under 14. For more information, please call the main office at (936) 594-7521.

•Martin Senior Center’s St. Patrick’s Day Luncheon was huge success. There was a lot of good food, fun, and gifts. The guests won a lot of gifts and prizes by participating in the activities planned for that day. We will have another one after next year after taking a vote from crowd attending that day. Now for the Center’s next event.

Martin Senior Center will host an Easter luncheon on Good Friday for those who would like to come and visit with us who are not going out of town, or even those who want to attend our luncheon before they go out of town are welcome also. There will be bingo games, a bonnet contest, coloring contest, door prizes, and raffle prizes are on the agenda. Trivia pursuit Easter game is planned as well as a golden egg hunt. Cost is $15 per person. For information, call Sherrie at (936) 594-2625.

•Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church continues their Lenten Fish Frys to the end of this week, March 27. Dine in or dine out. Cost of the catfish dinner is $12 for all plates. Dinner is served from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus from the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinity. The Church is located at 401 Prospect Drive (Highway 19 North).

For more information, call the church office on Thursday or Friday at (936) 594-6664.

Good Friday is April 3.

April 5 is Easter Sunday.

•The next major event for Trinity County is the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department’s Annual Fish Fry on Easter Sunday. It is held each year on the first Sunday of the month of April. Come rain or come shine, you can’t miss the hometown cooking of the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department members.

The menu and cost do not change. They serve fried catfish, French fries, coleslaw, pinto beans, and hush puppies. The cost is still only $10 per person, and they start serving at 11 a.m., and end at 2 p.m. Dine-in or take-out. For more information or donations, please call Keith Johnson at (936) 662-3916.
