GROVETON — The Groveton volleyball squad hopes to best its 2024 performance by not only securing a repeat district championship but pushing past the second round of playoffs.
Head Coach Laura Fajardo, in her third year as head coach, said there are quite a few returning players to help reach that goal.
In the 2024-25 season, the Lady Indians posted a 25-18 record (8-2 in district) on the march to the district title, including an impressive 13-2 home win streak.
Still, Fajardo said that even after losing only one senior, she still considers this a young team; however, it’s not the age, but the heart, and what experience there is will help in their quest.
And with players like Caila Antley leading the defense, and Kayleigh Albus dominating the net and the offense, the team has all the ingredients for a repeat.
