TRINITY — Two teams. New coaches. New schemes. Each rebuilding. But only one winner, and that was Coldspring.
On Sept. 29, Trinity fell to the Lady Trojans of Oakhurst 3-0 (14-25, 12-25, 14-25).
Then on Thursday, Trinity fell to Onalaska 3-0.
The losses leave the Lady Tigers looking for their first win and a district record of 0-4 (0-14 overall).
The Lady Indians are riding high on a 4-game win streak, downing Latexo on Sept. 29 and Alto on Thursday.
Against Latexo, Groveton won 3-0 (25-23, 25-10, 25-14).
Kayleigh Albus and Kady Lee led the offense, posting 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Carleigh Williford, Abbey Thornton and Albus each had 4 aces in the effort. Thornton and Albus both had 6 digs apiece, and Serenity Monroe posted 30 assists.
Against Alto, Groveton won 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-20).
Albus and Lee again led the attack, with 20 and 14 kills, respectively, and each posted 3 aces. Lee and Addison Randall had 2 blocked shots apiece, and Albus led the defense with 13 digs. Monroe posted 35 assists.
The wins give Groveton a 4-0 district record (18-17 overall), which currently puts them in first.
The Lady Eagles fell to Richards 3-0 on Friday.
