The Trinity Lady Tigers were firing on all cylinders last week, with a 70-43 win over Crockett on Friday and a 50-47 win over New Waverly on Jan. 27.
Against New Waverly, Mariah Tyson led the scoring with 18 while adding 12 rebounds, which helped Trinity overcome a 20-point deficit to take the W. Braleigh Bush added 13 points in the effort.
Tyson posted another 18 points against Crockett and pulled down 16 more rebounds. Emma Sustaita hit 19 points in the win, and Bush poured in 15.
The Lady Indians posted two wins in last week’s games, moving them to third in the district with a 6-3 record (12-11 overall).
On Friday, Groveton downed the Centerville Lady Tigers 46-25. On Jan. 27, the Lady Indians edged out Grapeland 37-36.
Top producers were Kayleigh Albus with 14 points, 3 assists, 15 rebounds, and 7 blocks;Lauren Moore with 10 points and 5 rebounds, Kady Lee with 7 points and 9 rebounds; Kinlee Albus with 4 points and 2 assists; and Areli Padron with 2 points and 3 assists.
Centerville girls are 16-9 overall (8-3 in district, currently 3rd place) and have clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2020.
The Lady Bulldogs won by forfeit over Laneville on Jan. 27, but lost to Broaddus 72-25 on Friday.
The Lady Eagles dropped two games last week, falling to Martinsville 68-6 on Wednesday and then 55-29 on Friday.
