Lady Tigers pull off third in Latexo tourney

LATEXO — Trinity pulled off a big win over Timpson to finish in third place in the Latexo Basketball Tournament last weekend.

Overall, the Lady Tigers went 3-1, including a 40-34 win over Cayuga on Thursday, and a 46-42 win over Elkhart and a 50-31 loss to Slocum on Friday.

During the tournament, Paetyn Jolly surpassed 200 in total points with 213 and has surpassed 100 total steals with 103. Meanwhile, Emma Sustaita surpassed 100 total deflections with 107; and Mariah Tyson surpassed 400 total points with 402.

Winning awards for this game were Braleigh Bush for defense, Mariah Tyson for shooting, Emma Sustaita for hustle, and Paetyn Jolly for rebounding.

Making the All-Tournament Team were Alexa Pruitt, Paetyn Jolly and Emma Sustaita.

Centerville

The Lady Dawgs finished off the Latexo tournament with a win over Onalaska 42-33, and overall going 2-2 in the event.

On Thursday, Centerville lost to Slocum 45-27 but won 40-37 over Normangee. Then on Friday, the girls lost to Elkhart 46-27.
