LIVINGSTON — Members of the Trinity Volunteer Fire Department took extra time over the weekend to learn more about their work and improve their abilities.

Fire Chief Keith Johnson said the Livingston Fire Training School was held Friday night and all day Saturday training to help firefighters better serve the residents of Trinity and Trinity County.

Firefighters Josh Melton, Michael Reininger and Kyle Stowe participated in live fire training — battling oil storage facility fires as well as house fires and LPG fires.

Firefighters Richard Harrelson and Matt Opiela served as Interior firefighting instructors at the house fire project; Truman Withers was the air supply officer and Keith Johnson was a safety officer.

Lamar Blake was in pump operation class and Bubba Blair and Boo Boo Lewis learned extraction techniques.

More than 100 local firefighters attended the annual school which provides training locally for area fire departments.
