The First quarter of the year 2026 is almost over. The TISD students return to school this week after spring break, Groveton ISD starts their spring break this week and the Trinity County Youth and Livestock Show starts on Thursday, March 19. 2026.
St. Patrick’s Day was on Tuesday of this week, and the Easter Holiday comes in two weeks. “Time Waits for no Man.” Three weeks ago, I told you about the Easter eggs hunts planned for our children in Trinity, and now there are only two more weeks before they occur. Once again, they are listed below:
•VFW Post 6899 is hosting their Easter Egg Hunt Party on Saturday April 4, at 10 a.m. There will be a cornhole tournament. a 3-legged race, a sack race, a hula hoop contest, a cake walk, and of course the Easter egg hunt for kids up to 14 years old.

Due to the Easter activities on April 4, the Maxie and Eddie Afternoon Dance at the VFW Hall has been rescheduled to April 11, at noon on that Saturday. The band performing on that Saturday is True Country. The VFW Cantina is open, but the Snack Bar is closed. BYOB and your own snacks.
•River Pointe of Trinity Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at 808 South Robb St. (Highway 19 South) is hosting its Easter egg hunt on Friday, April 3, starting at 10 a.m.

•The VFW afternoon dances held at 400 Caroline St. in Trinity, announced the date and performances for the months of May, June, and July.
On Saturday, May 2, Eddie and Maxey’s Country and Classic Rock Group is the Texas Hold-em Band, performing from noon to 4 p.m. Remember, Cantina is open, but the snack bar is closed. BYOB. Cost for the Dance is $15 per person.
On Saturday, June 6, Eddie and Maxey’s Country and Classic Rock Group is “Bootleg Country” performing from noon to 4 p.m. Cantina is open, but the Snack Bar is closed. BYOB. Cost for the Dance is $15 per person.

•Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church continues the Lenten Fish Fries to the end of the month of March. They are March 20 and 27. Dine in or dine out. Cost of the catfish dinner is $12 for all plates.
Dinner is served from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus from Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trinity. The Church is at 401 Prospect Drive (Highway 19 North).

•Trinity County and Youth Livestock Show is held in Groveton on March 19, 20, and 21. The show is held at the Fair Grounds in Groveton at the “Y,” US 287 and SH 94, located at 229 Fair Loop.
Schedule of Events: Thursday. March 19. Check in all shop projects: 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Friday, March 20. Check in all Market Animals (not steers): 7-10 a.m.
Saturday. March 21. Check in for all H.E. Projects: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.

•New April Events:
The Westwood Shore Subdivision in Trinity hosts a garage sale twice during the year. They are usually held in April and October. The first one for this year is April 10, and 11. They open for sales both days at 8 a.m., and end at 5 p.m.

•Trinity VFW Post 6899 in Trinity is hosting a Spring Patio Raffle to be held on Sunday, April 12. Cost of the Raffle Tickets are $1 each or 6 Tickets for $5.
