One injured, one arrested in shooting

TRINITY — A Trinity resident was arrested following a shooting incident on Aug. 1.

Trinity Police Chief Steven Jeter said that in the early morning hours of that Saturday, a victim, who was unidentified, came into the Trinity Police Station claiming he had been shot.

Jeter said the victim was bleeding and had signs of injury. An investigation was initiated which resulted in the arrest of Johnny Lee Harris, 45.

Details of the crime were not released by Jeter, who said the investigation was continuing with officers conducting interviews and collecting evidence.

He did say the event was an isolated incident and the public is not in harm’s way.

Harris is being held on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a first-degree felony, and bond was set at $100,000.
