Rain doesn’t dampen holiday spirit

Posted

It was cold, wet, rainy and miserable on Saturday, but the Christmas spirit was alive and well inside the Trinity Community Center. More than 40 vendors showed up to celebrate the sale of their wares at this event.

The decorations were to die for, Santa appeared for pictures, and the music and entertainers were the best, and they were able to entertain inside the Center.

Keren DeBose and Kelly Hartsfield are the best kept secrets of the Chamber Christmas Show. What beautiful voices and talented ladies we enjoy sent from above. We were blessed at this event with them.

Door prizes were given to the vendors every 30 minutes, and the variety of food vendors quenched our appetites. We had relief from the rain enough for everyone to enjoy themselves and shop for Christmas gifts and toys.

The list of people I need to thank for their tireless support of this event are the Budzise Family, the Trinity County Crime Stoppers, the Holcomb family, Jonathan Minson, T. J. Newton, Areia Bacon, Dr. Larry Quan, Margie Little, Karen Dixon, the Moss family, and the Mallari Family.

The Boys and Girls Club announced the winners of their raffle, but I did not have their names at the time of this publication. They gave away a rifle, TV, a four-wheeler, and a $250 gift card for this raffle.

The winners of the parade are:

TISD Transportation — Bus

Burning Hope Baptist Church — Float

Pamela Coles — Four-Wheeler

Trinity Tigerettes — Walkers

Trinity Volunteer Fire Department — Emergency Vehicle.

Each winner will receive $250. We had six categories, but we did not have any motorcycles in the sixth category to give an award.

The biggest thank you goes to the City of Trinity for supporting us financially and seeing that the people of Trinity were safe during the parade. The beautification committee is to be commended for decorating the community in time for the Cartoon Christmas Event.

• Last Sunday night, I attended the Trinity Tabernacle Pentecostal Church to hear the best Christmas Choir. The entire church participates in this blessing, and afterwards there is food, and fellowship for everyone attending.

They sang at the Trinity Peninsula Chamber of Commerce Christmas Show, but to hear them sing in a beautiful warm setting and with the extra instruments — wow. The Hargrave family is a true testament to the real Reason for the Season.
