Sheriff’s Office investigates burglary, vehicle theft

TRINITY — Two people were arrested and one of two stolen vehicles recovered as part of an investigation by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office.

On Aug. 5, Trinity County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a burglary and the theft of two vehicles.

Nine days later, deputies located one of the stolen vehicles and subsequently executed a search warrant in connection with the investigation. During the search, deputies recovered approximately $10,000 worth of additional stolen property, which was returned to its rightful owner.

As a result of the investigation, Justin Brown of Trinity and Lawanda Tyson of Trinity were placed under arrest.

The Trinity County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the involvement of two additional suspects and is actively working to locate the remaining stolen vehicle.

The remaining stolen vehicle is a 1987 GMC Suburban. The vehicle is red and gray, with gray paint through the middle section of the vehicle. It is also equipped with running boards, a chrome headache rack, and a bug guard on the front of the hood.
