Last weekend seemed forever, especially with the changes of weather patterns that couldn’t make up its mind whether to drown us or fry us. June 21 is officially the summer season and I can hardly wait. Yuk.
However, we have a lot of events happening in June like Vacation Bible School programs, VFW’s dances, Juneteenth celebrations, Father’s Day, and lots more to come.
First, Vacation Bible Schools Scheduled:
Calvary Baptist Church of Trinity is hosting their Vacation Bible School June 7-11 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Ages are K-5th grades. The theme for their program is Illuminating Jesus.
Trinity Pines Baptist Church is shining a Light on who Jesus really on June 15-19, to be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for children ages K- 6th grade. The church is located at 4769 FM 356. You can register your student at Trinity Pines Baptist.com. For more information, please call (936) 594-5277.
First Methodist Church of Trinity’s Vacation Bible School is July 20-24. Their theme is Celebrating Kids Road Trip-On the go with God. You can register now at (936) 594-3826 for ages K- 5th grades.

•On Tuesday, the Celebration Women’s Ministry celebrated 22 years of Celebration experiences. The speakers testified about this ministry with a light meal that was followed by praise and worship. It was at this time one of their instrumental Celebration Ladies demises was announced.
Mrs. Bobbie Jean Ledbetter passed away on May 26, six days after her 92nd birthday. She was the Lansberry Elementary Librarian for 14 years, before she retired. She and Jimmy Ledbetter were married for 73 years.
•The Juneteenth Celebration is happening at the Trinity Community Center on Friday, June 19. Details to follow next week.
•Sunday, June 21, is Father’s Day.
•Saturday, July 4th, is the Second Annual Martin Senior Service Center’s Trinity 42 Tournament to be held on Walker Street at the Center from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the cost is $25 per player. This includes snacks, drinks, lunch, and door prizes.
First-place team wins $200, second-place team wins $100, and third-place team wins $50. For more information, please call Julia at (936) 537-8171.
•Last week I told you about the passing of another Trinity icon who died on Monday, June1, leaving a huge legacy. Mrs. Ruth Tullos who passed away at River Pointe Rehabilitation Health Care Center in Trinity is having a celebration of life at the First United Methodist on Friday, June 12, at 10 a.m.
Last week the Trinity Lions Club had its end-of-the-year banquet, and it was awesome. the Agavales Restaurant and their party and conference room are superb. The food was excellent, and the service even greater. The following officers were installed:
