Thursday, Aug. 20, Special Meeting
The Groveton City Council discussed several items at a special meeting on Aug. 10.
•A decision on whether Groveton Hardware could use city property next to building, which was allowed in the past when the business was called McClain’s, was postponed again for more information. Council members asked for research on a lease, as well as the situation surrounding other other people using city property.
•While the council discussed law enforcement for the city again, no action was taken. The county will look into what is necessary to reinstate the shuttered Police Department.
•The council discussed the current and future budget but took no action.
